Little Nourish and Nest is finally here!
These are the things I have loved as a Mama myself, or things I have wished existed.
And to celebrate this new collection we had a gathering a few weeks back with some local mamas and creatives and a whole lot of little ones.
We gathered picnic-style, drank grapefruit mimosas and endless cups of tea while the little ones ran free.. our kind of Monday morning!
Thanks to everyone who joined us and to Mel for the delicious cakes.

It is always such a thrill when an idea that has long been swirling around in your mind comes to fruition.
Our delicious organic teas used as the base for cocktails, creative seasonal food paired with each cocktail and a mix of people ready to gather and celebrate warm Spring evenings and the beginning of the party season... this combination of sumptuous elements combined to make the Tea Cocktail Party!
A collaboration between Nourish and Nest and Reay's Place, it brought together such a fabulous mix of people. My favourite elements of all our gatherings are seeing people catch up, others meeting for the first time, guests laughing, connecting, relaxing and smiling across the table at one another. This event was no exception but with the added bonus of live music and an impromptu dance floor too. Love.
It was everything we had imagined and more. Thank you to everyone who came.. I hope you're inspired to try and mix a few tea cocktails yourself or at least enjoy some iced teas this coming Summer.

Special thanks to Garry & Nicole Reay and their gorgeous staff for looking after us, Event Lighting Hire for the lights, Sasha Crofts for the photos, Marissa Walsh for the styling and Kenny & Amanda for serenading us.
As promised, here is a glimpse into the enchanted afternoon that was our recent Tea Gathering. Nestled in the mountains, we sat at a communal table in front of an open fire and partook in a modern day tea ceremony, Nourish and Nest style.
Seasonal flora was strewn down the table and of course, there was candlelight aplenty. It was particularly special seeing people connect across the table, in the glow of our candles, having not known each other before they walked in but feeling the ease that a cup of tea and relaxed space can bring.
Nicole from Reay's Place nourished us with what can only be described as an afternoon tea degustation, with each course paired perfectly with one of our teas or herbal tisanes.
It was the first gathering we have hosted in quite some time and it was nourishing to the body and soul. It was also a beautiful reminder of why these events are such an important part of Nourish and Nest, so stay tuned for what we have planned for this November.
Thank you to Nicole and the team for the food, Marissa for styling, Sasha for the photos and our beautiful guests for spending the afternoon with us.
P.S. Nicole's date and walnut scones with maple butter were an absolute hit and she has kindly shared the recipe with us. Perfect for special Winter afternoons! If you'd like to receive it, make sure you're signed up to receive our newsletter via our homepage.

This past weekend, we held a little backyard gathering to thank those who have worked for Nourish and Nest and Nourish Creative this year. I am grateful for all of them and for what was a beautiful night to ease into the festive season. I thought I'd share some photos from the night, taken by Joe of Hindsight Images (thanks Joe!)
It was a relaxed evening, under a rather brilliant sunset. We sat and feasted at a grazing table prepared by Reay's Place, followed by paella cooked in front of us and drank Island Green Tea punch (recipe to come). Special thanks to Event Lighting Hire for installing gorgeous lights for the evening.
Here's to gathering and celebrating as the year comes to a close and being grateful for the people we do life with xxx
At Nourish and Nest, we love to gather. We host gatherings to create, to celebrate, to relish the season and to meet good folk.
So we are rather excited to announce the gatherings we have planned for the rest of this year.
The first two gatherings are of the creative kind and are happening this Spring.
We only have 10 tickets available for each so they may not last long!
Bring some friends or come and meet new people - either way we'd love to have you with us.
Purchase tickets online here.
We believe in tea as ritual. It is a small pleasure, an ancient and timeless act amongst the rhythm of our days. Tea can allow us to find beauty in small solitary moments or be a conduit for bringing people together to share moments in time.
We believe that when we gather we can connect and engage in conversations that fill our hearts and share moments that inspire our souls.
The Tea Gathering is our next event and it has been born out of this idea of gathering people together around the simple but beautiful ritual of tea.
The event will be held on a winter afternoon in the fabulous Clifton School of Arts.
In collaboration with Reay's Place, we will be presenting tastings of our entire range of organic teas and herbal tisanes, paired with an 8-course degustation created by Nicole and Garry Reay.
It will be beautiful down to the last detail and seats are limited. Why not gather with us? Come alone and meet new folk or bring a group of friends.
Photos of our past gatherings can be found here.
The season at hand may technically be Autumn, but in my neck of the woods at least, the weather is still rather warm. Now is the time to bask in the last of these tepid afternoons and pleasant evenings and what better way than with drinks in the garden?
Gather a couple of friends, throw a few of your prettiest trinkets on the table, as well as some flowers, candles (always candles!) and download some chilled tunes.
Serve ice teas, some bubbles and simple snacks like fresh fruit and corn chips with queso dip.
Sink back in your chair and allow yourself to enjoy relaxed conversations and the last of what has seemed like an endless Summer.
It is incredibly fulfilling to see an idea long thought about become a tangible reality. And so it was with a very full heart that I took my seat at the table for the first of our seasonal gatherings at the start of this month.
The concept was simple - to gather in celebration of the season at hand. To engage with good company over good, local, in-season food.
And so, 20 of us ate and drank and talked and laughed in celebration of Winter.
As is fitting for the coldest season, there were multiples fires lit, hearty food, warming wines and teas and a bit of much-needed decadence to entice us away from our homes and encourage us to linger at the table until the very late hours.
We were rewarded with food that exceeded all expectations from our talented chefs, a full blue moon, new people met and the soul-warming goodness that comes from taking time over a meal with no distractions bar good conversation.
The menu focused on fresh, local, in-season produce and was created to highlight the aromas of our Winter candle with its notes of sweet pine forest, earthy cedar wood & smokey campfire.
A Winter's Feast was generously supported by:
We are incredibly grateful for their support as well as that of Amy & Mark who opened their beautiful home to us for the night (the same home we used for this shoot) and (as always) to our fabulous Katelin (of Atolia fame) who is behind the scenes (or in front of the camera) for much that happens around here.
Keen to gather with us for our Spring celebration? If you sign up for our newsletter (left hand side of our homepage), you'll be the first to know when seats are available at the table.
Part of the philosophy behind Nourish and Nest is 'gather and celebrate' and 'align yourself with the seasons'. So, with these two ideas in mind, we have been dreaming for a while now of gathering fine folk each season to celebrate good company, good food and good wine.
The first of these seasonal gatherings that we will be hosting is 'A Winter's Feast'.
Talented chefs Garry & Nicole Reay have created an incredible Winter menu featuring local produce and matching wines. The dinner will be held at a private venue in the northern suburbs of Wollongong, with guests being sent location details prior to the night.
You can secure yourself a seat at the table here.
