Do your good // The Asylum Seeker Resource Centre

If you've been following Nourish and Nest for a while now, you would (hopefully!) know that we donate $1 from every single candle sold to charities who are 'doing their good' in our world. Organisations that we have donated to this year include the A21 Campaign, World Vision and UNICEF.

Part of our philosophy is to 'do your good' and this stems from the belief that no act of kindness or compassion is ever too small to make a difference. While I very much believe in being grateful for the blessed lives we live, it is important that such gratitude is also coupled with an awareness of the incredible injustice that permeates much of our world. There are some amazing organisations out there doing their part to address these injustices and it is a privilege to be able to give to them, even amongst the humble beginnings of a small business.

Currently, Nourish and Nest are excited to be supporting the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC).

I first became aware of the work of the ASRC after reading an interview with founder Kon Karapanagiotidis in Dumbo Feather a couple of years ago. Kon is seriously inspiring, as is the work that the ASRC does to support, empower and advocate for refugees and to educate our community and promote compassion.

I love following the ASRC on their journey, reading the inspiring stories of the people they assist and am honoured that this small business could contribute to such a good work.

If you have one of our candles in your home, you have been a part of this too - so thank YOU for helping us to do our good.

Tara x
